45th Class Reunion for West High School Class of 1978: Aug. 4-5, 202!

Greetings Madison West High School Class of 1978 Classmates,

The 45th Reunion Planning Committee has met a few times over the last several months. Based on your feedback, we are pleased to announce that our 45th Class Reunion will be on Aug. 4-5, 2023. We hope you can join us. More details below.

Our 45th Reunion will consist of some informal “on your own” activities on Fri., Aug. 4, and a nicely catered picnic at Kurt Messner’s farm in Paoli (THANK YOU Kurt!) on Sat., Aug. 5 (drinks and snacks provided starting at 3 PM, picnic dinner available from 5-7 PM, followed by a small bonfire and fireworks at dusk). Spouses and partners are invited; the per person cost will be in the $25-30 range. The casual Friday afternoon/evening drop in at the Memorial Union Terrace was a big hit at our 40th Reunion, so we’ll plan on that again this year. Unfortunately, we learned that our alma mater will be completely closed to the public over the summer due to the massive renovations that will be underway, so a Class tour of West High School will not be an option. If you would like to suggest an informal activity for classmates that you could coordinate that weekend, please let the Committee know (ReunionCommittee@madisonwesthighclassof1978.com).

One note for those who will be planning to travel to Madison for our 45th Reunion. Madison will be hosting the very popular 2023 CrossFit Games on Aug. 3-6. What this means is that Madison area hotel space will unfortunately be at a premium that weekend. While we are trying to secure a room block at an area hotel, you may want to plan ahead, and perhaps book a room sooner than you would normally would.

Please look for another communication in mid to late April when we will ask for online RSVPs to our 45th. We could use your help in two ways in that regard:
1. Please RSVP as early as you can! That will help the Planning Committee make sure that we have everything we need ordered and ready to go for the Reunion; and
2. Spread the word about the Class of 1978 45th Reunion on your own social networks! Do you have contact information for any of our classmates listed on the Class of 78 website
